creamy iced coffee

This iced coffee drink is silky, creamy, and just sweet enough.

It stands apart from other coffee beverages because it is "cold brewed," and less acidic than traditionally brewed coffee.
Cold brewing in a french press keeps the beans' oil in the coffee, and not trapped in the filter. The result is a smooth, non-bitter brew that sits well on the palate, and perks you up!

Creamy Iced Coffee

1 cup Coffee, ground (I like Community Coffee's Medium Roast or New Orleans Chicory Blend)
4 cups Water
3-4 cups Skim Milk, or to taste
1/2 cup Flavored Liquid Coffee Creamer, or Half and Half
4-5 Tbsp. Powdered Sugar or Splenda, or to taste

** Measurements vary according to your taste... these are just guide measurements.
The only ingredient that I actually measure is the coffee. **

To cold brew the coffee, measure coffee grounds and water, and add to a french press. Replace the press cap, leaving the plunger up. Allow coffee to steep at room temperature overnight, or for about 10-12 hours. Filter coffee by pushing down the plunger/strainer.

Transfer coffee to a large, glass jug or pitcher.
Add milk, creamer, and powdered sugar to coffee. Stir well, and taste for preferred sweetness and strength.

Keep refrigerated, or serve over ice.
You can also make it a delicious treat by topping your glass with whipped cream and chocolate shavings! Or, add a shot of your favorite liqueur!
