I found this adorable project at The Idea Room. I loved it, and whipped up a batch for my mom's classroom, and for my friends' kiddos. They were a super-duper hit!To create these cuties, you will need:
Raw Oatmeal, White Sugar, Red & Green Decorators' Sugar
Cellophane Treat Bags (3.75" x 6")
Cardstock or 32lb. Paper
Staples/Stapler
Creative Software- PhotoShop, MS Publisher, or equivalent
Printer
Scrapbook cutter or scissors
I created the labels (3.85" x 4.75") in PhotoShop with House of 3 graphics, and fun fonts from DaFont.com (Santa's Sleigh and Christmas Card).
They were printed on my home printer, on high quality, HP 32lb. extra-bright paper (found at WalMart in the electronics department, near printer ink).
After printing, trim the labels and fold in half.
The cellophane bags were purchased from Hobby
Lobby (with the cake/candy supplies).Poem:
Sprinkle on the lawn at night,
Rudolph's nose will make it sparkle bright.
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam,
This will guide them to your home.
Recipe: Yields about 4 bags
1/2 cup Oatmeal
1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Red and Green Sugar Crystals (for cake decorating)
In a medium mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients.
Fill each cellophane treat bag with about 1/3 cup of the reindeer food mixture.
Fold the top inch of the treat bag over and staple in the center. Top the bag with a folded label, and staple each side.
Voila!
Santa and his hungry reindeer will be able to find you! :)
