I did it!
Though, I must clarify...We did not just run over the Kemah Bridge, we also ran back to where we started.
...in the humid, Houston heat.
102° at 6 p.m.
The bridge run is very much a metaphor for things in my life:Starting over.
Entering into a new season of life.
Leaving the past, in the past.
Literally, taking one step at a time to reach the finish line.
And, a reminder... with God, anything is possible (even a 140 foot high, 2 mile long bridge).
My time was not super (38 minutes), but the event itself is a HUGE triumph for me.
I came in last, but I had everyone's support when I finished! The crowd cheering me on made me well up with tears of gratitude, and I also thought of all of you that have been so encouraging to me.
And, bonus... a couple of girlfriends and hunky guys came back to finish with me, including Mr. Karate McHottie (see first photo: grey shirt/black shorts)!
I have successfully crossed the bridge, and started my new life.Thank you for following me on this journey.
I have just begun!
