Happy Easter!
No bunnies... Just Jesus.

⁴ ... it was our weaknesses He carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed Him down.
And we thought His troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for His own sins!
⁵ But He was PIERCED for our rebellion,
CRUSHED for our sins.
He was BEATEN so we could be whole.
He was WHIPPED so we could be healed.
⁶ All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on Him the sins of us all."
Isaiah 53:4-6

God is crazy about you!
Did you know that?

He loves you more than the billions of stars that pin-prick the inky sky.
He calls you beautiful. You are a bride of the King.
His love for you is unfailing, unconditional, and to our earthly minds, unfathomable.
His love sets you free.
He was crucified for you, so you could have eternal life.

His love for you is outstretched, from one scarred hand to the other.

Today, those words are resonating in my head...

Dear Jesus,
Draw me nearer.
Thank you for dying in such an excruciatingly painful, and embarrassing way for me. I am a sinner; often a child lost in the vapid, prosaic, frenzy of life. And, yet, You chose to die for me, in spite of my shortcomings and transgressions.
Lord, please give me the compassion, empathy, forgiveness, and grace to love others as You do.
Abba, You are worthy of all of my praise. May You be glorified today.

Thank you for Your Son.

Thank you for the cross that bears my shame.

In Your sweet Son's Name, amen.
